This portrait was made to be in the style of George Hurrell - a photographer in the 20's and 30's who is known for inventing the genre of 'glamour photography' through his portraits of hollywood movie stars.
The model was GREAT to work with and seems to have a natural talent in front of the camera. I was trying to go for a seductive expression and pose - sleek, sexy, a little mysterious, but still elequent. do you think i achieved this?
god... this is striking. Just catches your attention. I normally don't comment on photography but hot DAMN this just can't be ignored. The exteme focus of her skin is amazing and her eyes are so intense. The mood you reached for was definitely achieved. Hell. EXCEEDED. Ah. This is a favorite.

it's gonna be so nice to have someone here other than konrad that can put up some quality stuff. i've seen this one before but i probably never told you, nice. nice work. thanks for the comment. i was pretty happy with how it turned out.
I absolutely love the way she takes a rectangle and creates shape. The frame seems to conform to HER body. The DOF is perfect. This doesn't even feel like a photograph, it has such real dimensions!
yes, I think so, especially with all the texture and patterns you've included. I like the slight gradient that you've added to bring the outline of her head out a bit.
I'm intrigued by your DOF, it it quite bizarre.
I guess you were going for the soft focus effect of the period and Hurrell.
What camera gear were you using?
2 lights yeah?? Spot overhead to right and background spot???
The bit that throws me is the focus of the 'leopard' material.
Model works.
